Do I have to Perform a Harvard Case Study Analysis?
Yes! You have to write a 500-word case study analysis. In order to do this, you will receive a student guide to the case method on performing a case analysis which will take you through the four steps of a case analysis and introduces variations for partial case analysis and directed cases. You will also receive a real case from Harvard Business School, the Harvard case study “Truly Human Leadership at Barry-Wehmiller” which your case analysis should be based upon. In order to write your case study analysis, you will receive a template with additional instructions.
Case analysis is an effective tool for practicing the art and science of management. The case method immerses students in real-life situations, allowing you to develop your business skills by analyzing realistic situations, applying business theories and tools, and making substantiated recommendations for a course of action.
What is the Capstone Experience for the Executive Mini-MBA?
The Executive Mini-MBA program will give you the capstone experience with the business simulation “Conscious Capitalism – Bikes” by Marketplace Simulations. This capstone simulation exercise challenges you to operate a conscious business in contrast to the traditional profit-maximizing business paradigm. In the simulation you must consider all of the firm’s stakeholders, including customers, stockholders, employees, suppliers, and the community. You must deal with ethical, environmental, and sustainability issues in addition to the usual management challenges of running a business.
While you encounter the challenges of starting up a fully-functioning entrepreneurial firm, you are also exposed to the tensions underlying Conscious Capitalism, including employee morale, reputation, product reliability, as well as environmental and health concerns.
The Conscious Capitalism problems and opportunities are presented within the context of a new enterprise with demands on the players’ time, attention, talent, spirit, resources, and livelihood. These Conscious Capitalism issues represent dilemmas to be resolved, starting slowly and growing as the business matures. You must choose between the path of least resistance or working hard to build a conscious business.
Conscious Capitalism’s business philosophy originated from a book that was written on this concept by John Mackey, co-founder and co-CEO of Whole Foods, and professor Raj Sisodia, who also founded the nonprofit Conscious Capitalism together. The primary four guiding principles behind this concept include a higher purpose, conscious leadership, conscious culture, and stakeholder orientation. As an introduction to conscious leadership you will get access to an exclusive Leaders Excellence podcast on this topic by professor Raj Sisodia, honorary fellow of Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square.
The content allows participants to design brands, as well as advertising and internet marketing campaigns. With this content, you can open up distribution channels and build a production facility. Participants will hire workers and decide on their compensation packages. Everyone in this program will forecast demand, schedule production, and have complete accounting responsibility.
The simulation will take users through a wide range of business components and decisions while addressing the Conscious Capital issues that will emerge.
In this stimulation, users are provided with the seed capital to start up an innovative, new product line: 3D-printed, carbon fiber bikes. These bikes are light, strong, and very affordable. Best of all, these can be customized to each customer’s physical and performance requirements. Bike riders are intrigued by these benefits, but want to wait to see what you bring to the market.
A big game changer for the industry is that 3D printers enable made-to-order protection. This incredible breakthrough eliminates the need to hold inventory anywhere in the supply chain, and the costs to finance and store inventory are eliminated.
Your work is online, self-guided with an intuitive interface, built-in instructions, help files, and helpful warnings. There are 6 decision rounds of 2 to 3 hours each, a total of 12-18 hours. It will be available on April 1, 2023 and must be completed within 6 months.
